The Committee on Environmental Policy, Use of Natural Resources and Elimination of Consequences of Chornobyl Disaster recommends that the Parliament rejects the Bill on Amendments to the Law "On Protection of the Environment" (re Introduction of the Duty for Pollution by the Highly Environmentally Dangerous Production)

The Bill (Reg. No.4063) introduces a new tax duty for "pollution of the environment by the highly environmentally dangerous production". It includes requirements concerning protection of the environment from the negative influence of the highly environmentally dangerous production. The Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine shall determine the list of such production.

According to the People´s Deputies, "introduction of extra taxes on certain types of production will result in the increase of its cost and corresponding reduction of demand for manufacture, which will bear negative influence on the domestic producers under the conditions of economic recession".
